Terms & Booking Policy

The full booking, deposit, refund and image-usage terms for sessions with Aline's Gentle Lens. Written in plain English — if anything below is unclear, email info@alinesgentlelens.com.au before you commit.

Booking & deposit

  • A $199 flat deposit secures your date and is applied to your final balance.
  • The deposit is only taken once you've chosen to confirm — there is no payment to enquire.
  • Session balance is due before your session date. A three-instalment plan is available on request, at no additional cost.

Refund policy

We have a flexible refund policy: you are eligible for a full refund of any amount paid — deposit and balance — up to 30 days before your session date.

  • More than 30 days before your session — full refund on request, no reason needed. Any third-party processing fees already incurred are deducted.
  • Inside the 30-day window — up to two reschedules are available free of charge. We know things can be difficult and complicated, especially with new babies, and we'd rather find you a new date than leave you stuck.
  • Newborn bookings — because the session date moves with baby's actual arrival, we treat the 30-day window with extra flexibility. If something changes around the birth, talk to us — we'll almost always find a fair outcome.

Exceptional circumstances

If something genuinely difficult has come up — a medical issue, a family emergency, or a change in your baby's care — and the standard reschedules don't fit, write to us at info@alinesgentlelens.com.au and we'll review your situation personally. We've found fair outcomes outside the standard window before, and we'll always try to help.

Reschedules

  • Up to two reschedules are included on every booking, free of charge, with at least 48 hours' notice.
  • We can't guarantee a weekend slot, the same day of the week, or the same time of day on a reschedule. We'll offer the next available openings in our current roster and ask that you stay flexible — we're happy to move between studio and in-home where it helps.
  • Illness (yours, baby's, or ours) is always a free reschedule and does not count toward the two — we'd rather move the date than photograph an unwell family.
  • Newborn dates re-time freely around baby's actual arrival at no extra cost — this does not count as a reschedule.

Gift vouchers

  • Valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.
  • Non-refundable once issued, but fully transferable — the recipient can change at any time.
  • Redeemable against any session, print, album, or wall-art purchase. Any unused balance is forfeited at expiry.

Reveal Appointment & add-ons

Add-ons chosen at your Reveal Appointment (extra digitals, albums, wall art, prints) are paid in studio and go into production once confirmed. Production orders are non-refundable once placed with our lab, but we will reprint at no charge if an item arrives damaged or with a fault on our side.

Image delivery & usage

  • Final images are delivered within 3–4 weeks of your Reveal Appointment, in a private online gallery.
  • Copyright in all images remains with Aline's Gentle Lens. You receive a personal-use licence to print and share your photographs freely.
  • Commercial use, resale, or AI-training use of your images is not permitted without written consent.
  • We may occasionally feature a small selection of your session in our portfolio or social channels. If you'd prefer your images stay private, just let us know — there is a tick-box on your booking form and you can change your mind at any time.

Studio safety

Newborn safety comes before every shot. All posing is composite-based and supervised by the photographer at all times. If anyone in your immediate household is unwell in the 48 hours before your session, please let us know — we will always reschedule.

Governing law & changes

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and operate alongside your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, which are not excluded by anything in this policy.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version and date at the top of this page always reflect the current terms. Bookings are governed by the version that was in effect on the day your deposit was paid.
