Common questions.

When in pregnancy should I book?

32 to 36 weeks is the sweet spot — bump is full but you are still mobile and comfortable. Reach out as early as you like; if you are already close to that window, send a quick enquiry anyway, as short-notice dates open most weeks.

Is 38 weeks too late for maternity photos?

Not necessarily, but we keep the session shorter and gentler, with more seated and supported posing. If you are carrying twins or have been told to expect an early arrival, aim for 28 to 32 weeks instead.

Do I need to bring my own wardrobe?

No. The studio wardrobe runs XS through XXL in soft, neutral fabrics chosen to photograph beautifully — flowing gowns, fitted knits and simple bodysuits. You are welcome to bring a favourite piece as well, and we will help you choose on the day.

What should my partner and children wear?

Soft neutrals — cream, oatmeal, stone, warm grey — with no large logos or bright prints. We send a styling guide when you book, and there are neutral tops and knits at the studio if anyone arrives unsure.

Will I know how to pose?

You will not need to. Aline directs everything — where to place your hands, how to shift your weight, where to look — so you can simply follow along. Most people who tell us they are awkward in photos end up with their favourite frames.

Should I do hair and makeup?

It is optional, but it helps you feel like yourself on camera and it photographs well. We can recommend Northern Beaches artists who come to the studio or to your home.

Can my partner and older kids come?

Absolutely. The session is built around your family — partner portraits and sibling moments are woven through, never bolted on.

Studio or beach for maternity photos?

Both work, and many families do a little of each. The studio gives you warmth, privacy and the full wardrobe; Mona Vale, Bongin Bongin Bay and Newport Beach are minutes away for the last of the golden light.

Can I combine maternity and newborn sessions?

Yes — most families book the pair together so the two sittings sit side by side on the wall. Tell us at enquiry and we will hold both dates around your due window.

How much is a maternity photoshoot in Sydney's Northern Beaches?

Sessions start from $590 + GST, with a Founding Families PLUS session at $389 + GST including 8 hand-retouched digitals while that limited offer lasts. Fine art 11x14 inch prints are $49 + GST each. Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
